Encyclopedia Britannica Most encyclopedias sets are generally obsolete within a few years of their publication date, and for that reason have little if any monetary value as far as used books are concerned. The exceptions to this is Catholic encyclopedias, Jewish encyclopedias, the eighteenth century first edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica and the 1910 Eleventh Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica--- the latter being the most-quoted edition of the EB ever! Because the Eleventh Edition contains a great deal of historical information that has forever been missing from later "politically correct" editions, when a set comes on the market it is generally snapped up, if the price is not too high. This is why we were very pleased to find a bargain-priced set of the hard-to-find Eleventh Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica a few weeks back! Because it was a bargain, we can now pass our savings along to our customers.(information here, number of books, leather binding, condition of books, note in volume that is damaged, etc., note that it is the Handy edition, note that it is printed on India paper and therefore retains as good as quality as the day it was printed.) Eleventh Edition sets of the Encyclopedia Britannica normally go for $400-$600, depending on condition and other factors, but we are offering our set of these originals at $250 postpaid! So if you've been looking, then here's your chance to own an original at a price that you may never again find! $249.95
